Just want to say hello from Tulsa. Been lurking for awhile but wanted to join in the fun. You all have some pretty good advice and info and want to thank you all.

Hey hey greetings from another Tulsa dweller! Good to see there are some others in this fine town of ours. Great forum and lots to learn and do. Have a great week.
Greetings from another Tulsan. I have been camping in a hammock with our scout troop since 2004. I have had some funny looks from some of the other troop leaders when we went to multi troop events. In January, with the temperature down to 18 degrees, one guy said that I must have really suffered the cold in my shelter (an original Hennessy Expedition). I laughed. I am very toasty with my thermarest pad and my 20 degree sleeping bag used as a top quilt. My only problem is camping in an open field with no trees (which happens in certain places). I need to build a turtle dog stand and experiment with that.
But it is good to know someone within a hundred miles does this stuff.

I've been putting my kit together all winter and am trying to find a place to try it out. I am on the west side and thinking about going up on turkey mountain behind pepsi but am unsure right now. Any ideas ?
Welcome from SC, I miss Tulsa! Spent 10 years out there. I miss Braums and Taco Bueno (the way it used to be). My 1st thought on a spot for an overnight was Redbud Valley but looked it up and that's not permitted. What about around Keystone State park since you're on the west side?

Give me more folly said the fool,
Give me stone silence said the deaf man,
I didn't believe Sunday School.
