VERY good video. "and just like that, you fall on the ground" Ok. I'll admit that I laughed, having the exact experience when learning to tie a rope to my treestrap the first couple times. First time, I boo-boo'ed both ends, second time, only one. Same result, a gentle sink with butt-bump. No injury, just felt horribly stupid and embarrassed myself in front of the ants, spiders, and such.
Thanks for all the information Griz! I might add a webbing suspension to my hammock eventually, Cuz I don't think S hooks and the provided cord are going to cut it for long term use.
Grizz, I have to say you've done an incredible job with these videos. I took your advice on the Easton tent pegs and I like them very much for the marlin-spike hitch.
Every time I started the first video, I wanted to turn my THX sound on and up for a full-surround effect!

I'd like to add my thanks and a thumbs up for these awesome vids and for posting them here. I've just started my hammock-camping journey, so this kind of stuff is great.
First time hanger...much appreciated Sir!!
Mahalo & Aloha ...
KauaiSurfrider--thanks! glad you found that useful.
I visited Kauai a year ago, as it happens, at a conference that met on the east side of the island. Beautiful place.

Great video grizz, really informative. makes me want to change my setup a little
Grzz, If I was going to use just 1 ring on the hammock ends, would I still use a slippery half hitch or would you use another knot?
Thanks
