Hey, folks.
Been trying like mad to track down a used Emberlit Mini wood stove.
If any of y'all out there have one, and it just doesn't see the trail often enough (or at all), I'll happily give it a new home.
Hope to hear from some of ya!

Good luck with that. I got my EL Mini when they first came out and were a lot cheaper. I carry mine on every trip as a backup to my alky stove. I rarely use it but it's a 4.5 oz survival item, not something I consider a luxury when it comes to gram watching!

Ha! I've seen it sold online. Was hoping to come across someone here who'd be willing to part with a used one before I had to consider ponying-up that $80 retail!
My boss explained the concept of my time being worth money. So if you spend 4 hours looking to save 20$ you basically feel your time is worth 5$ a hour.
Metaphorical hands in the air.
I'll wait it out months and make my time worth $0.02 before I would pay full retail on this one. Appreciate the link, GSX, but hoping someone in the community comes forward with one they don't want/no longer need.
You better act fast. The remaining EL Mini stock is it. The Emberlit Fire Ant is about to be released. They posted this on Facebook.
Thanks for the heads-up, Coil! I'm not on Facebook myself - guess that's how it got past me.
Also, @#$%! Hmm. I'm torn - sounds like they're going to offer the Ant in titanium AND stainless...likely meaning a more reasonable pricetag.
Any foreseeable advantages to owning the original over the one replacing it? Or am I asking a rhetorical question, as claiming superiority of the original negates the value of making a replacement?

Eric, you may really enjoy bargain hunting, and i don't want to suggest that you would be happier spending your time doing other things but here are some options to save a few bucks.
Dutch sells Element Ti stove for $55:

Could also make a custom WB stove to fit you favorite pot and alky stove from SS or Ti sheet of metal and/or hardware cloth mesh (SS). Not that difficult, but will take you away from the internet. (dang my career was spent designing internet equipment)

Many ideas at zenstoves.net and thruhiker, backpackinglight etc and of course Hammock Forums. Dozens of other Backpackable WB stoves to choose from and infinite varieties of designs to make yourself.
Not cheap but stoves i like are Firefly and Firefly XL

I'd sit on my hands for a while. If there is a new stove coming out there will be some early grabbers of he El MIni selling theirs to get the new one. Should be some deals then. ;-)
YMMV
