    Good Deal?

Is this usable for tarps and such? What size?

It's usable but would not be my first choice and the manufacturer doesn't give strength specs. Polypropylene is lower in strength than polyester. The 3mm should be ~1/8" which is larger than typically used.

A search will turn up better prices such as here... http://www.campsaver.com/glow-in-the-dark-ropes

Not my first choice either. Polypropylene degrades quickly in sunlight, and is not very strong. The price of $.08 looks attractive, but you'd be better off paying $.14 cents a foot for 1.75 mm Zing-it. It's pretty popular on HF, is strong (480 lbs. breaking strength) and splice-able.

If you're keen on reflective/glow-in-the-dark line, there's this stuff:

    http://diygearsupply.com/product/reflective-glowire/

I don't go for this kind of stuff 'cause it's not splice-able, weighs a bit too much and costs too much ($.25 per foot). I'm blind in one eye and have zero depth perception that gets worse at night, but I have yet to trip on a tarp guyline or run into my tarp ridgeline, but some folks seem to have this problem.

I just ran across it and thought it might be useful for my tarp. I can trip on a line in daylight.
