Is there a good way to get in a sleeping bag?

I love my hammock but getting in a sleeping bag is a pain. I'm sure a top quilt would solve that problem but until that day comes how do you guys that use sleeping bags get in it. I have a Hennessy zip model which helps but a few suggestions would be great.

Most having the problem will get into it first then get in the hammock..
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..

Open it up most of the way and use it like a top quilt.

Used mine like a top quilt until I got a top quilt.

I position mine roughly the way i want it. Unzip half way and flip the open part into the shelf or if you dont have a bb roll the open part out of the way. Sit down in the middle by the part that is not unzipped and slide in. Zip into your bag and then you should be able to grab the hammock edges and slide around into your "spot".

When I put the bag in the hammock first it tends to slide to the middle/bottom. For awhile I got around this by attaching a short piece of shock cord to the hood of the bag and to a loop in the end of the hammock.
But usually, if I am using a bag, it is going to be cold and I want the bag zipped up all the way so I get in the bag and zip it up fully while still outside the hammock. That seems to work best for me.

I've been hammock camping in my hennessy for about 3 years...and am going on my second time only with a topquilt. When I started, no one told me I was supposed to have a rough time getting in and out of the sleeping bag.

I started with using the bottom entry only in my HH. I'd simply climb into the hammock, lay the sleeping bag out next to me, mostly unzipped. Then I'd pick my feet up and slide them down into the hammock...then arch my back, lift my hips, and roll my hips, legs, and back into the hammock. Then I'd just lift my shoulders and adjust the bag under my shoulders...reach down, zip up, and adjust my lay as needed.

Same basic technique, only easier, with the side entry. Lay it out how you want in the hammock, sit in the hammock with your butt in the middle of the open bag, rotate your feet into the footbox of the bag, then adjust a bit as needed.

I would like to be able to use my bag if I can get the hang of it. I like to be fully zipped in it also. Nothing like goose down on a cold night.

This comes up occasionally and I still don't understand. I just put it in the hammock, then put my feet in, zip up. Same as on the ground.
