    KS>Woodridge>Mar 7th-9th?

Anyone interested? I'll have to check and make sure that the park is open (since I've learned it may not be safe to assume that it is open).

Same things as before. We could setup at the trailhead and car camp, could hike a couple of miles in, I'm game for about anything.

Time to get the KC folks back out together, and maybe drag in some folks from other areas?

    Steveks is correct!

Woodridge is a primitive/public use area on the western shore of Clinton Lake. It's maintained by the US Army Core of Engineers (USACE), open year 'round, and has the 4.5 mile George Latham Trail. At the trailhead, there is a well with potable water, and a vault latrine, as well as a good number of campsites. In years past they would close the gate in the winter, but the park was still "open" with parking allowed on the road outside (but not blocking) the gate. Recently, they've been leaving the gate open year around.

Rules are very simple...all fires must be in the fire rings/pits (but cookstoves are allowed on the tables/etc...), no bikes on the trails, and no alcohol. Also, no burning of live trees (I know...go figure). There is a dog (Tip) who lives alongside the park and pretty much runs the place...sweetest little guy you'll meet!

I prefer this over the state park to the north mostly because it's free.

Hammock camping is allowed there (I've been camping there for about three years now), and we often get visitors that are interested in our setups when we hang at/near the trailhead.

    Come on out!

Glad you are gonna make it out, Skygzr! And you too, Steveks! We'll at least have a couple of folks out there with us.

Going to be there as well. Will see if I can get Trailboss that weekend too. Will it be too late to pray for snow?
