    DIY Idea/thoughts on it...

So I am playing around with some insultex that I purchased. Wondering what anyone thought would me more efficient. I was thinking about sewing it into sort of a double layered "pillowcase" for a cheap pad. My other thought was to make a bag liner out of it, but I feel like that might be too warm. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried it, and/or your thoughts on what you think would work better and why...

Sounds doable but keep in mind that IX is virtually a vapor barrier.

Gogrills has a sleeping bag that only has insulation on the top. The bottom is just two layers of fabric that he slides a pad into. I'd never seen that but what a great way to keep your pad under you in a hammock!

Yep, but most pads are, too. So, putting a VB inside of a VB shouldn't make that much difference in condensation levels.
