Line comparison and suspension lines for European hangers

Amsteel is pretty hard to get by to here in The Netherlands. I ordered some with some titanium goodness from Dutch the other day, but while it's still stuck in the USPS Chicago sorting facility, I've already thought up more projects that require more rope.

So on with the quest to find affordable Dyneema rope here in Europe, and I found German-made Liros D-Pro which has nice specs and I was able to find some for a nice price. But I kept wondering how it compares to ordering Amsteel from Dutch, so I created a spreadsheet to compare them.

    Here it is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...1E&usp=sharing
Everyone with the link can edit and add their favorite rope to the sheet.

Prices are from a Dutch (as in: from the Netherlands) web shop, I think hangers in German-speaking countries should be able to find Liros D-Pro for comparable prices.

    If I find the time:
    - add Marlow rope for UK hangers
    - add other European quality rope (suggestions anyone?)
    - create a shipping calculator that calculates the break-even point where shipping from the US at better prices is actually cheaper if you want to wait for USPS.

I'm ordering from Kanirope.de / kanirope.com simply as they are drive by pickup for me.

The 100m spool of 2mm Dynema comes at 52.36 EUR which is ok and more than enough fun for some more hammocks and whoopies.

The 3mm is at 0.84 EUR /m and 77.35 EUR for the roll.

There might be cheaper ones but again, every now and then I just want to have the line and the guys really helpful.

That's a very good price for what looks like the same Liros line! I had to use the German website, the English one didn't have any prices nor a search box

My first length of amsteel I ordered from DD-hammocks in the UK. I paid more than buying comparable route in Germany would have cost me. But that I didn't know at the time. At trekking-lite.com you can dyneema line of various thickness. 1.6 millimeter would be 0.65€/m.
On the search for some meters of 2 millimeter dyneema-line to use as crl I found a marine supply shop that sells by the role. I was lucky enough that they had a roll of 2 millimeter line already opened, so they sold me the length I needed for quite a good price. If I had taken the whole roll, I think the price would have been comparable to the one already mentioned in an earlier post in this thread.

I ended up using Vectran as it was comparable, in price, to Amsteel and Dyneema, but having felt them in the sailing shop it just felt better. Scientific, I know

http://www.neropes.com/ is now owned by this Austrian company. http://www.teufelberger.com/ Check NE's dyneema http://www.neropes.com/product.aspx?...6C&lid=1&pid=4 , this product will have it's name changed back to Endura soon. I just picked up their 2mm and it is just like dynaglide.

Anyway just thought something on that side of the pond might help. I would think their entire product line would be available soon which would include dynaglide.

Cool. I'll add the Teufelberger rope and Vectran as soon as I have the time.
    Thanks for the input!

This can be done smarter of course.

I've protected some areas of the spreadsheet to avoid unintended deletions of formulas and stuff. For the rest, everyone with the link (see first post) can edit now, so if you know of a good rope, fire away!
