    TX-250 and Jarbidge underquilt

I did a test of my new underquilt the other night and hanging it on the TX-250 is a little awkward due to interference with the clark pole straps. I hung the underquilt suspension over the pole straps which seemed to work but it didn't allow me to tighten the suspension much. The quilt was gapping open at the midpoint in the length direction and when the wind blew it caught the gapped open edge and it was like someone opened a freezer on my backside. Otherwise, when the wind wasn't blowing I was pretty comfortable. The outside temp was about 5 degrees above the Jarbidge's (with apex insulation) temp rating. I am thinking of adding some omnitape along the sides of the Jarbidge to attach it to the TX-250. Does anyone have any simpler ideas? I've seen the video Arrowhead has which emphasizes not over tightening the ends and I definitely didn't do that.

A loop mid-length on each side then shock cord over the ridge line. Shug showed this in a video one time.
OR a few loops with a toggle or hook.

A good idea but a clark hammock doesn't have a ridgeline. The TX-250 does have strip of velcro that runs the entire length so that is an asset for this problem if I have to resort to mods or sewing...

No. I was planning on taking some pictures to post but a bird decided to poop all over the tarp and I took everything down to minimize the mess before he came back to finish the job.

The underquilt works with the tx250 but it's a little awkward. If you put the suspension on top of the pole straps you can't pull the underquilt suspension taught enough to keep the quilt from gapping in the middle since the quilt is longer than the distance between the pole straps. If you rig the suspension below the pole straps the underquilt is restricted from wrapping around the sides of the hammock. It's not necessarily the fault of the underquilt. It's a good bit longer than most 3/4 length underquilts, but the additional length causes the interference problem on the tx250. I'm sure the quilt can be easily modified in some way to work around the straps.

Solutions are multiple in the UQ forum. Dutch hooks are the specialty items. Hundreds of millions of women rely on matched hooks at the ends of elastic s

..well, the Tapalk update version isn't letting me in to complete, so....

....hooks at the ends of straps. Called 'bra hooks'. Or sew snaps to the ends of pairs of short elastic straps equipped with shortening buckles, as common with helmet straps.

The method that 2QZQ uses on their Underquilt Protector might work for you. I'm not sure I can explain it -
On each edge, a length of light shock cord is attached. But it doesn't run the full length of the fabric. The cord is in the center 2/3rds approx. It emerges from the fabric in the middle and the can be tightened or loosened and secured with a cord lock. On the very light material of the UQP it does a great job of closing the gap along the edges. On my TX-250, the pole pocket webbing would prevent a good fit if it were not for the elastic cord.
This would take some modification to your UQ probably.
I should be able to get pictures sometime this weekend if they will help.

Edited to add: Since the TX already has velcro along the entire length of the sides the easiest and simplest solution may be to add velcro to the UQ to keep it snug against the hammock. The UQ would probably not need velcro for the full length - a few short strips per side might do. I use the Clark full length UQ and the velcro solves the problems you are facing.

The velcro pieces is what I've been planning to do since I only have to modify the underquilt. I expect that the rod straps may still be a problem though since they are an interference.
