    Arrow Smashed out another Underquilt

Nothing special. Just 18oz of 850fill downy goodness rolled up in some 1.1oz black calendared ripstop nylon. Knocked this baby out Sat and filled it today.

So now me and my wife both have 0°F TopQuilts and Underquilts. At least I think they are rated for 0°F. The topquilts both have 16oz of 850fill goose down and the underquilts both have 18oz of 850fill goose down. My rating is just a guess. I have only tested them to 16°F with windchills of 8°F. Pretty happy so far. No more underquilts for me for awhile. lol..Next project starts next weekend. Making my first backpack...

Those look great. When are you making a pair of 3/4 length ones for my girls?
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the strength to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Can I ask what the dimensions are on your UQ and un-footboxed TQ are? And why did you choose to use vertical baffles instead of horizontal on the UQ and vice versa on the TQ?

I'm about to embark on this same endeavor for my husband and I and I want to get my stuff straight before hand. Yours look great!

Sure. The thread with all the Under quilt dimensions is located here and the thread for my top quilt is located here.
The reason I chose perpendicular baffles for my TQ was just to control how much insulation was used in each area and to prohibit it from shifting. The baffles near the head end are slightly larger than the foot end but all baffles contain the same amount of down.
The reason I went with parallel baffles for the UQ was to allow for shifting of the down lengthwise as needed and to keep the down from all falling to the middle if the quilt while in use. It's a preference thing and there is no truly correct way to do it. As long as it suits your needs and functionality. Good luck on your project.
Ill be uploading a video of how to cut your baffle walls super easy and straight, soon. I just have to double check my footage and make sure I got all the correct shots to edit.
