You're much faster than me
Have you had time to test these quilts yet? I've been pondering over doing close to the opposite - making the leg area with thinner baffles and less insulation than the chest, and allowing physiology to better control temperature through circulatory changes. Putting more insulation on the legs than the chest seems counter-intuitive to achieving that.

Perfect! Thanks.
man, awesome work! I wish I could sew like that... my stitching looks like a group project produced during arts & crafts hour at Bellevue.
My feet always seem to be the thing that gets cold so that is why I did it that way. Even in my bed my feet are always cold. I can always add layers to my upper torso if I need them. Besides the difference between the baffle sizes is minor. I always suggest to build your quilt how you like it. Mine works for me perfectly but may not work for you. I have taken it to 16F degrees and was almost sweating.
XTrekker; where are you getting your backpack waist strap and such, and is it responsibly priced? Or are you cutting from another pack? Make sure you share pictures and such of that project too. Been thinking about DIY my own, but I need find the items at a reasonable price in order for it the DIY be cost effective.
Those look fantastic!
We'll to be honest the DIY cost may never be what you would hope. Unless you are skilled enough to think out every single piece of suppy components that you will need and are able to source everything from the same site, you cost will be fairly high but typically lower than store bought, depending on the pack design that you are trying to mimic.
The majority of my supplies come from outdoor wilderness fabric inc. I made the Waistbelt from scratch. The video series on my channel goes over how I constructed everything.
