Same here. If a downpour is not expected, a JRB 11X10 works fine. A Kelty 12X12 would probably be a good option as well.

Thanks for the input thus far everyone. That Kelty seems like the bang for the buck. My wife and daughter will only come with during the warmer months. Downpours do occur but usually with no wind and only for an hour or so. The typical Summer downpours.

I camp with an OES Deluxe and a ENO Doublenest and have never gotten wet when we go out. My wife and daughter are in Doublenests also if it makes a difference.

    I believe the Kelty Noah's 12 is a good tarp for 2.

I'm gearing up for some hammocking with my wife, daughter, and dog. I currently have an OES MacCat Deluxe for myself and two Etowah Outitters Diamond shaped tarps for my ladies. One of the diamond tarps is not large enough for a windy/rainy situation as the rain will get to the hammock. I think it's only 8 foot from corner to corner.

So enough about what I do have.

I am wanting to get another tarp and thought it might be beneficial to get one that I can do a three-tree hang from with the daughter or wife. I THINK that the deluxe might work for this but since I need to get another tarp anyway I feel I should get a larger one just in case.

I was thinking of getting a MacCat Ultra. But I'm not affluent with enough other hammocking tarps to know if there is something better?

    What do you all think?

I just picked up a Kelty Noah 16, and You could get all three of you in that thing and still have room IMHO, it's a HOUSE!!

It's not light at >3lbs. But I assume this is not for UL Thru Hiking.

Nope, not a thru hiker persay. This is going to be for taking the wife and daughter camping. And they aren't camping newbies. Both are hammock campers as well. I just thought it may be easier to have a three tree setup with two of our hammocks and share a tarp.

That 16 footer might be a little too large though. I'd have to find some near perfect trees for that to work out I'd think?

I like the idea of using the two tarps, but I'm having a hard time figuring out where you'd tie off the tarp that under the other one to make sure any moisture runs away from the inhabitants.
