    Tumped!

(My wife says it's not a word)...but that is what finally happened to me this morning. I had the rude experience of falling out of my WB Ridgerunner when I turned from my side to my back and flipped out, landing on my back. Fortunately I was not very high and there were no roots or rocks underneath. ...also, fortunately, the cat who sometimes sleeps underneath was not there to enjoy the experience with me. :-)

Anybody else flip out of a Ridgerunner?

My wife will not let me try hers as I am too heavy for it.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

Nope, I don't have one but do adhere to the adage "never hang higher than you are willing to fall"

Did you have it at 30 degrees? They are easier to fall out when pitched tighter IMO.

Never fallen out but I move slowly just to prevent that from happening. Glad you are ok.

    "Tump"
I've used that word all of my life. My dear husband informed me over 30 years ago that it was not a word. I keep right on using it and still insist that it is a real word, lol. Maybe its a regional thing?

I had to click on this thread just to see the details of being "tumped".
    I hope you weren't hurt.

I continue to use the word in spite of my wife's scorn. I'm with ya, It just seems to fit better than either dumped or turned over; It is really a contraction of the two, the past tense of being turned over and dumped out...or act of being dumped out of something turned over.
Perhaps it is a southern thing, like "Y'all".

It is a word...you're just using it in place of the correct term, "tump over"...

"tump - 1) a small rounded hill or mound; a tumulus. 2) a clump of trees, shrubs, or grass."

"tump over - cause to overturn from an upright or normal position"

    Google - tump...

While I haven't tumped over in my WBRR, I do like living on the edge (of a bridge hammock)...

Never heard of being tumped, but there is absolutely a tumpline. Used a pack with one on canoe portages at boundry waters when I was a kid in scouts. What a miserable piece of torture chamber gear!
