    A Little Tip

I'm sure I'm not the only one doing this, but I haven't seen it mentioned, so...

I tether the foot end of my top quilt to either the ridge line or the foot end suspension with a bit of small shock cord. This does two things: it's much easier to get in and out of the foot box, and it keeps the foot end from falling out of the hammock when I get up. Some quilts already have a hang loop on the foot box, and in some cases you may need to add one.

    Nap on, homies.

Well if you had been the only one, you sure aren't now. Thanks for the tip, don't no why I didn't do this sooner. I had been using a rectangular SB and the nylon on nylon was very slippery and with the wide girth of the SB at the bottom it was always spilling out of the hammock and hanging in the rain, mud etc.

I've been considering doing this. Good to see others are doing this with good luck.

I have been doing that ever since the first night with my TQ, just seemed like the thing to do. I have shared with several others but never here. Thanks for posting a real handy tip.

Have done it with mine, and it is great to prevent the TQ from slipping out of the hammock, and makes it much easier to just slide you feet in and pull up. Thanks OG for the post. I thought more folks were doing it. I'm not sure where I got the idea, but have been doing it for 1 1/2 years now.

yeah, great idea. This is the perfect solution for the length of cord left hanging out after cinching up my footbox. Now I can tell people it was all part of the design.

On both my RR and BMBH I have been attaching mine to the spreader bar. This is espcially helpful for me since on nights below the 20's, I double up with two SBs as TQs. Holding that outer bag in place really helps the sliding in method of getting settled. Many people will be thankful you posted this oldgringo.
