Great tip for people lying with straight(-ish) legs.
But I don't want to do that.
I'm a side sleeper, pulling up my knees. Kind of fetal position. I need the foot end of the TQ to be loose so that it moves up with my feet.

The cord could probably be 4ft long and still not let the quilt hit the ground, and you can tie to the rigdeline with a knot that will slide along it (eg bowline), or introduce a mini clip if friction is a problem.

Great idea, I get pretty frustrated by the end of the night, first and second exit are fine, then after that, my quilt is askew, I can't get everything back where I want it. Really irritating. Something so simple (I never would have thought of it unless someone suggested it).

I just began making a TQ, I am going to incorporate this idea, thank you.

If I did not tether the foot end of my top quilt to the ridgeline, my quilt would never be in the hammock.
