    New Member - Chattanooga

Hello, I am a new member from Chattanooga, TN. I used a Hennessy Asym backpacker bottom entry hammock on half of my AT thru hike. I joined the forum to learn about selecting a new hammock that is lighter weight and to better insulation options.

Welcome to the forums. I used to have a HH UL asym backpacker. I liked that hammock a lot. Do you have a trail journals page?

There are a lot of options and it can be a bit maddening, but I find it worth it. Best of luck and let us know what questions we can help out with.

Welcome and good luck with your trip. You'll find a lot out here around saving weight. Just search the forum and post your unanswered questions.

I like my Explorer bottom entry and I use a supershelter for bottom insulation which has worked great for me down to 32. I use my 0 degree bag for a top quilt (and in case I have to go to ground). I feel the HH is a good complete solution but I understand people want to mix/match when they don't need a bug net or want to pick "best of breed" for tarps and quilts.
    Thanks,

    Mr. G
