Top Quilt DIY- Argon Fabric 850+ Down

Welcome to my first top quilt build! I just got back from school and to my surprise all the fabric and down had arrived at my house... let the madness begin.
I have been doing a fair amount of research and have a pretty good idea as to how I want it to look. I will attempt to build this quilt to the same specs as the Burrow 40* top quilt so 50" width, 70" length and am currently set on a 1" baffle height. As for the number of baffles I have been having a hard time making the executive decision. It seems there might be an optimal width for the amount of down your using to obtain maximum loft but no resource have presented themselves in the research stage so I will probably end up having somewhere around 14 baffles unless a wise DIY'er stops me in my tracks. Stay posted for the build!

You should make me come there and iron out those wrinkles. It looks like there is string running the length of the baffles. What is that?

looks great so far, and remember you get out what you put in. You've already invested in great materials, now take your time and be precise and you will get the quilt of your dreams. Good luck, and can't wait to see the finished product.

If it helps you any, I just posted THIS thread a week ago. I'm doing the same 40* TQ build. My down arrives tomorrow and it will be done. BTW, the Burrow dimensions are 74x50. I hope your 70" is long enough. I'm 5'10", and mine at 74", just does come over the top of my head. Hope this helps. Nice project you have going! Keep us posted.

I had the same problem with mine. I stopped until I could find a solution.

Boy is this a lot of work... I have been working hard since noon and only have 3 baffles complete, its looking good though for not having any sewing experience
