DIY Cuben Tarp....all tape, no stitching.

    Cuben Material CT 2E .08 26grm/m2
Cuben Tape double-sided CT PSA 0.5inch

It's a fairly straight forward build, make sure you've plenty of elbow room & that its clean & dust free.
Next time, for the larger areas, such as the tie outs & maybe the ridgeline, I'd probably use 1inch tape as it gets bit tedious with half inch.
    Tie out ideas & info....http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-...e_pagination=1
I used titanium 'D' rings on all tie outs...from here. http://www.rutalocura.com/Ti_Hardware.html
Grab a self healing cutting board from spotlight or similar haberdashery( and wince at the price ) & a nice sharp cutting blade.
Keep the dogs , cats & a persistent 1 year old boy at bay .....and bobs your uncle.

    First outing.....

Giving these a trial as tie out adjusters.....wanted something easily adjusted with gloves on.

    ....tongue-in-cheek makers mark.

Great looking tarp, I love the shape and may use that when I make mine. So you didn't sew anything? When I first got my cuben tarp, one of the corner pull outs got missed somehow and the bonding broke loose on the first outing.

I like it. Will be trying a DIY cuben my self at some point. Try 1/2in PVC for the cam ring adjusters.

Where did you purchase the cuban?

I used to work with someone who was from Australia.
She cracked me up everytime she said this!!

    Well done.

Not quite sure how those tie out adjusters work....

How thick or how many layers did you make your tieouts of cuben material that hold your D rings? Very nice sharp tarp and have been considering this without sewing, but have been alittle hung up on how to do the tieouts till your postings and links. Very Nice!

Not a single stitch, dangerous....it's my first cuben, so it's a suck it & see situation.
A little research, a bit of sweat & toil, and a lot of fingers crossing.
It's hard to take it too seriously when the material your using looks & feels like oven paper.

Thanks yooz85, there made by MSR & called tie-out camrings,
they come packs of 4....as exclr8 says in the next post, you can easily make
your own using plastic or aluminium small diameter tubing & drilling a few holes.
