“I held a moment in my hand, brilliant as a star, fragile as a flower, a tiny sliver of one hour. I dropped it carelessly, Ah! I didn't know, I held opportunity.” -Hazel Lee
As to the application of all knots, keep this in mind.
A neat knot, knotted neatly, is a neatly knotted knot. While a neat knot, not knotted neatly, is not a neatly knotted knot. Just sayin'.............

If you need/want to make your own hammock, here are the 2 knots I use on 3 1/2 or 4 yards X 60" of nylon (no sewing at all):
First, I make a loop in the rope by using the 'double fisherman bend':

Then make your hammock ends:

Then hang the hammock using Hennessey lashing and take a nap.

Own less, live more.
I use angler's knots when I need a loop. Somehow my bowlines always seem to slip on me and angler's stay put. User error, I know.
