    Question 10 or 11 ft?

    I'm 5'10'', 200-210 lbs.
Ive read many people my height or below enjoy the added space and/or comfort an 11 footer provides.
Has anyone my size'ish had experience with 10 and 11 footers.
Which did you like better and why?
Also...if I did opt for an 11 footer would I need to get a 12 foot tarp to adequately cover the hammock?

p.s. I know that the best way to tell would be to actually hang in one but Im kinda stuck at home for a while now ...longstory...so I am just looking for opinions at this point.
    thanks

I have a WBBB 1.1 and love it, but I have to say, I recently purchased a BIAS WWM, 11' and 62" wide, it is super comfortable and I think I am beginning to prefer that set up because of how much more comfortable it is AND the fact that it is a modular set up (i.e. I do not have to carry a bug net all the time)

I'm short but will only buy 11 foot hammocks. So much more comfortable. You will need a bigger tarp but not a 12 footer.

I'm same height as you, but 50 lbs. lighter. My first couple of years I was happy with shorter hammocks, but once I went to 11 ft. hammocks, I'm ecstatic at how comfortable they are. I've also adapted the modular approach (leave bugnet at home when you don't need it) and will never go back to an integrated bugnet - too claustrophobic, too hard to get out of when you're in a hurry.

The downside of 11 ft. hammocks (which I'm willing to live with) is I do have to hang my hammock (and therefore my tarp) higher. This is simple math - a long hammock has a longer ridgeline and along with that comes a longer distance between the ridgeline and the bottom of the hammock.

I'm 5' 9" and 150#. Got rid of my very popular brand 10 footer the day after I slept in a new 62" wide, 11 ft BIAS. Since then, I'm on my 2nd DIY 11 footer that's 66" wide.
I've had no problems with an 11 ft tarp and am really sorry that I sold my 11 ft Big Daddy from Wilderness Logics that I had sewn half doors on.

I'm SS and the rest of you. 11' for me.

First thing I do once I've decided upon trees, is look for a rock or log, that can be borrowed for a step up. Probably use it for later to cook off of.

Haven't yet perfected the hiking pole trick, or think to perfect it at the time. Not sure which

I think he meant to say, "I'm [with] SS (i.e., me) and the rest of you."

    Like what size man?
Im considering the Superfly or the Simply Light Winter Haven...
    (among a million others)
Im looking for a lightweight 4 season bomber with doors and side pull outs for my first setup.Cant afford cuben yet.
They are both 11 footers...( SLWH is 11.5 )
The Superfly is 1.3 lbs (kinda heavy?)
The simply Light is 24 ounces.
Im not sure if its with guylines added in though.
