Hey folks....I have a couple of questions about this event.....1. Are dogs permitted to attend. 2. Is this island something my kids and I can paddle our kayaks to? 3. Potable water at site? 4. How big is the island?
    Thanks!

    Great questions.

#1 - Yes dogs are permitted.
#2 - From the parking area at Moon's Landing, the island is approximately 3,300 ft
#3 - There is no potable water on the island. You will either need to bring your own or filter from the lake. That being said. I will be bringing two Coleman 3 gallon containers with me and I usually end up pouring out water before heading home. Others do this as well, so I am sure there will be more than enough to share if need be.
#4 - At its longest the island is 1,315 ft and at its widest it is 927 ft. It does narrow up a good bit between the top and bottom.

Here is a link to the island on Google Maps --> http://goo.gl/maps/OJNmW

I hope this answers your questions and you are able to make this trip. It is a lot of fun and a great place to hang.

Consider yourselves added. Can't wait to meet y'all. Super jealous of Muskrat for being able to make the FL hang this year. I hope I can talk the missus into giving me a pass sometime in the future for that hang.

We've been trying to make this for a few years now. Glad we're finally going to be there.
    I understand there's a ferry involved, but is this a hike-in, drive-in or ??? If it's a hike in, how far?

The campsites are on the outer edges of the island so once you get to the island there will be no hike. There is a slight hike from the secure parking area to the boat ramp (maybe a few hundred yards).
