Yea, I like the idea of the back yard hang first. But if your willing to go I'm game.

I'll keep an eye on this thread.

How about the Northville Lake Placid trail? There is several places to go along the trail starting from your car. Just throwing out an idea.

Okay, so this is a much larger response than I expected! Even in my own world I'm getting takers. What is everyone's availability in early/mid March? March 8/9 or 15/16?

Nice. I would suggest changing the name of this thread or starting a new one titled for the date and location.

I would be fine with the NPT suggestion, possibly Upper Benson to Rock Lake? Only downside is the distance, for any first timers we may want to be no more than 2 miles from car/shelter.

I am open to others as well.

Shorter distance from car along the NPT would be:
Piseco to Buckhorn Lk
Wakely Dam to Cedar River flow (or just stay in the wakely area)
Caitlin Bay area along Long Lake
Easier due to trail conditions (but about 3 miles in) would be from Lake Durant to Stephens or cascade Pond (bonus Lean-to for those who need to bail from hammock).
The Adks have no shortage of options.

I would be interested, never been on a group hang before (been on group trips, especially the NTP, but was always the only hanger). Can't make it the 8/9th but the 15/16th would be a possibility.

Tagging for interest. Both of those march dates would be good for me. Might try to tie it to a Friday trip to gore for some snowboarding. Early//mid February is also good. Dying to use snowshoes this year.
