That could be a risk I'm willing to take lol. The way I'm seeing it on here is that these hammocks are like pistols and rifles or tattoos, you can't just have one.

You're going to end up with both anyhow. The only question is which one is first?

Im thinking the Dream Hammock with a toxaway tarp and a whoopie suspension to shed some of the weight. If there is a better set up please guide me all mighty hangers.

Sounds like a good start. But look out, you'll be looking to upgrade the tarp to something made of Cuben down the road. Welcome to the madness and the Forum.

While you are on the AH website for your toxaway tarp you should checkout the Apex Climashield Underquilts.

Man I love love love my Clark Jungle Hammock. Made by a veteran in Salt Lake, can't get more american than that!!! They seem spendy at first look but compared to what you get with your purchase its very comparable to other makers. Its great for the first timer.

I tried them both out at a hang. Each one has its pros and cons. I am hard pressed to give up the shelf, but I thought the Dream Hammock was more comfortable. The other thing about the BB was lack of options for the zipper. I almost bought one, but resisted the urge for now I believe I wrote something about the two. I'll see if I can find it.

Found it. I hope this helps.

Don't get me wrong, the WB XLC is comfortable, has lots of ventilation netting and most importantly has the shelf, but the bug net or solid top does not fold back nicely over the ridge line. It is probably the deciding factor for me. On the other hand, the ThBird zipper can be hard to reach all the way at the top. I spoke with Poppa Smurf about this and thought the end piece (don't remember what he called it) could be made longer so you wouldn't have to zip it up as much. The other big thing is when using the solid cover on the TB it can be evenly unzipped as far down as needed for ventilation. The XLC would only be cracked open on the side with not much control of ventilation and the material hangs in your face. An 11' hammock is sweet and I am only 6'. Takes any leg discomfort away. Good luck in your choice. Either way it is not bad. Hope this helps in your decision.
