Reflectix - Cozies done, what next?

Greeting - When the snow flies, so does the DIY bug when stuck indoors most the time. I bought a roll of reflectix months back, and have made enough cozies for my plethora of mugs.

So... what's next? What is a good use for the rest of the roll?

I thought about adding a reflective ground barrier under the foam padding when tenting it. Ugh I know, but when taking the scouts out ever month, there is limited hanging time)

Also thought about creating a layer in my WBBB Dual Layer, but worry about condensation.

I welcome your ideas, and good use ideas.

Best of luck and stay warm :-)

How about a nice sit pad. You can sew a grosgrain edge around the periphery for a nice finished look. Make a nice ripstop sleeve for it to keep your kit clean when using if for in-the -hammock foot insulation.

I've done these in 16" x 16" up to 60" x 80" trifolds for queen size air beds. Made one 16" x 72" and covered it with woodland camo medium weight fleece for an extra layer in my hammock with the 20* UQ for very cold nights. Condensation has not been an issue in single digit temps, especially with the fleece.

The ground/sit pads are really nice to have and weigh very little.

    cozzies

How about a pouch to put freeze dried meals in after pouring in the hot water? It retains a lot of heat, and the meal reconstitutes very nicely.

Very cool ideas coming in already -keep them coming

Cozies for fried dried is an excellent idea, and so is the fleece cover (solves one of my worries about sliding off)

I use one to keep my water bladder cool in the summer... sometimes on day hikes I put lots of ice in the bladder and enjoy a cold drink on the trail.

This is a mere 16x32" pad of Reflectix on 32x80" Tyvek. With the 40* Burrow on the way it's the ultimate UL ground set-up. I slept on this once so far. On a chilly night with this and my Gossamer Gear sit pad in the bag under my feet and a polypro balaclava on my head I was toasty warm.

    On my to do list.
    boot inserts
    pad for double layer hammock
    cozies
full length pad for folding camp chair for when hanging out around the fire
also thinking maybe a sleeve to put boots in at night before bed. not sure about this one.
I have a good size roll sitting here. But these will probalbly get done on an as needed basis at the Nor'easter hang. That's usually how I roll.

Thanks for this info - I use a flannel cover on my 1/4" pads to absorb condensation, but I never thought of reflectix and fleece.
