My pops just ordered me a ThunderBird. It's gonna be 10 ft. with 1.1 Brownish Green for the body and overcover. Whoopie suspension but I'm wondering whether I should've gotten cinch buckles since I've never used them before. Couldn't justify the weight gain though. What do you guys think?

Can't wait to get my Dream Hammock!!!!

Got my Thunderbird today and let me just say that it is a thing of absolute beauty. The grayish olive color looks amazing and I would definitely recommend asking PapaSmurf about it if you're looking to get a Dream Hammock.

I have to admit that I flip-flopped on my order several times changing things up. PapaSmurf quickly responded to every email I sent (even around the holidays) and wouldn't dare let me call it "bugging him". He was an absolute pleasure to work with and always gave me great advice (he basically picked the grayish olive color for me based on what I was looking for and I'm glad he did!). PapaSmurf and Dream Hammock offered some of the best customer service I have ever experienced, which is par for the course for our cottage vendors around here. I will forever be a Dream Hammock customer.

So PapaSmurf I would like to publicly thank you for everything and for possessing some of the finest sewing skills I have ever seen (you sure you don't have some robot doing all your work in the shop?

). I know my awesome Thunderbird will provide me many, many years of phenomenal hammock camping!

I know, I know, pics or it didn't happen. Well its sleeting and raining here in Nashville so not the best time for a photo op. However I will post pics as soon as I get a chance to hang her just to make all you non Dream Hammock owners jealous

looking forward to seeing these pics, do me a favor and let us see these separating zippers. Randy is awesome and wouldn't steer anyone wrong.

Will do. Me and the dudes might do an overnighter this weekend if I can keep them from chickening out. Will definitely snap some photos then. Do you just want a closeup of how the zippers connect?

Yea, I've got 750yds of that Grayish Olive and the more I use it, the more I like it.
I suppose I oughta get that on the website one of these days.

What are the specs of the fabric (ripstop, nylon, weight, dwr...) and could someone please post a picture of grayish olive?

I know it's a 1.1 ripstop nylon...not sure if it is pure or dwr...I will try and get some pics up...can't find my camera and my phone sucks!
