    Shug,

You should warn people that these thermometers have a liquid crystal display that can be damaged or freeze in severe cold. Also, the batteries can be killed by the cold as well. I've seen it on one of your videos also. Another words, you need to get cozy with a lot of stuff in the bag on cold nights. Headlamp, water bottle, any other item like a cell phone, and yourself. Also, another item you need to get cozy with is a water filter. It can freeze and break the element, even if it's drained properly.

I keep mine in my pocket. The transmitter has always worked out in the freeze. That is my report.

My accurite has been hanging outdoors on my full time outdoor setup since March.
Aside from changing the batteries, no issues.

Leaving it in direct sunlight will skew the temps as mentioned.

I cross check the temp with both an external wireless as well as the old red alcohol standby, temps have been within +/- 2 degrees. Good enough for me.

Will be checking it in 0-9 degree temps this week.

My first one gave weird readings like that as well. I've had my second for 24 hours now, and it seems to be fine. QC issues, it would seem. Perhaps shoot them an email and see if they stand behind that warranty?

Yeah, I'm gonna order a second one and see if it's better than the first. Cheap enough for a second chance, given the number of satisfied customers here.

I'm an "all digital" guy, except when it comes to thermometers.

I love these, plus it's lightweight and multifunctional.

I have three. One is spot on, the other two are about 1° off. Pretty good!

Anyone had experience with Bluetooth thermometers?
There are a few out there, the most affordable ones are grilling thermometers; but, surprisingly, they do low temps too!
I was quite taken by the multiple sensors, logging and graphing capabilities.

Why use a small device to send the info to your phone, when it could just display the temp right on it and skip the phone? I'm not understanding the need for someone to invent that.
