Ordered my first hammock (Warbonnet), now the hard part....waiting

So on Black Friday I ordered my first hammock, a WBBB dbl layer 1.7oz with a superfly tarp.

Surprisingly the wife didn't go nuts. Wow! the sun does shine there... huh?

So now that the easy part is done, I'm now driving myself crazy waiting to receive it (3-4 week lead-time as per the website). I really can't afford any other accessories right now, BUT what should I save up for first? Would an underquilt be my first big purchase?

    Thanks

Congrats on your first Hammock! I just recently recieved mine myself. I would think you should start saving up for an underquilt but if you do some research you will find many instances where people are using pads and sleeping bags. You could always go the DIY route and try to make yourself a cheap quilt system. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a top and bottm quilt for 20 degrees but I am going to have to figure something out for when it gets a little warmer.

really, the worse part of all this is actually waiting on the hammock. I'm going to drive myself nuts between now and then.

kewl, I'll take a look over there ASAP. Maybe, just maybe, Santa can "accidently" drop off an additional gift.

Congrats on some sweet gear. Definitely grab an UQ when you can. Also pick up a roll of zing-it for your tarp and some Dutch stingers or flys for your tarp. You can order the zing-it from reddenmarine.com. Start reading threads about splicing.

Mine will be on the way in a couple of weeks, and I can't wait either. It is a high quality piece of gear. I knew from the moment I first laid in my friend's blackbird that I needed one, even though I have my very comfy BIAS and my DIY. I am pretty certain it will be my go to hammock for most applications. Congrats on the purchase. Oh and get an underquilt. I can't use them where I am stationed, so I look forward to dropping some serious dough on a 3 and 4 season down set when I get back to the US in a few years. My other big purchase was a tarp form HG...It shipped this morning...
