    Top quilt styles and temps

    What brand and teperature top quilt do you think is best. I live in the north east and hate the cold so wont be down below 32 - 35 ever if i can control that.

    I just use a 15* Sierra Designs Ridge Runner sleeping bag. Turn it upsidedown like a TQ. I'll be converting it to a true TQ at some point, though. I augment it with a lightweight fleece blanket when needed.

    I used sleeping bags for a while before getting an actual TQ. Do you have an UQ?

    I use two TQs: JRB Sierra Stealth (40-45F) and the Sierra Sniveler (25-30F). These quilts, occasionally coupled with liner, can handle about any temp condition that I need for a TQ.

    Agree that the UQ is more important for warmth but being able to use a properly rated TQ makes my sleep position much more comfortable.
