To continue with my diy projects I'm gonna follow Debi's advice and build me a tarp. Has anyone bought the 2nds coated nylon from diy gear supply? If so, how was it?

That looks really nice, good job and good luck on your tarp
In general it's not recommended to use rope in ring like this. If my memory serves me, you would need 10mm or larger kernmantle and the suggested weight limit would be 200 lb. The easier thing to do is slice the amsteel into a loop and larks head it to the rings. Then you would use the strap and rings as a buckle. Hope that makes sense.
nice looking job. I love the built in bug net.

This is an awesome job. Would interested in the sewing you did on the hammock as in edges and ends....great job!
I just bought a hammock sock in ACU Camo
Anybody know what weight this Taslite nylon can hold....I've heard 200+. Just curious.

Looks good
Looks good! Very interesting method on the bug net suspension. Looks like it really increases the roominess.
One thing did catch my eye though... I noticed the Figure 9 was rated at 50 lbs. but it also appears with the way you have it rigged that it is not really supporting the load, per se. Rather the load is exerted on the strap and the Figure 9 is simply just a widget that provides a means used to guy out the netting. Is this correct?
Again, great job!
Looks great. Noticed you went without a ridgeline...Are you thinking about adding one or prefer it without one?
