Dream Hammock Pack Hook Mod Video

We've been working over the past few months designing a connection detail for our Zeppelin Under Quilt to take advantage of the pack hooks available on Dream Hammocks. The detail that we have worked out and Dream Hammock has tested is shown here. We have added this to our website as an available option, either left shoulder, right shoulder, or both. This is available on all full lenght and 3/4 length Zeppelin Under Quilts.

Using this connection locks the quilt in the proper location and prevents it from sliding off your shoulder during the night.

This is a pretty cool development in quilts. It seems like the mod would also work great for someone who wants to sew a Dutch quilt hook onto their hammock body. I have some sewn in Dutch hooks on my WBBB, but they don't really do anything for me and I don't bother using them anymore, since they attach to the quilt suspension way above where my shoulder actually is. If you could simply attach the Dutch hook right by your shoulder, they might be able to hook right in to this quilt mod. Do you think that would work? Maybe you could offer one measured out for Warbonnet tie out points or Hennessy, where someone could just threat the tie out through your quilt suspension point? I love that you are thinking of ways to improve. That is what is great about our cottage industries around here.

    Got this . . .

New Thunderbird and Full length Underground quilts Zeppelin. For a new guy, this took all the fiddle factor out of the equation. I had no slippage and stayed toasty all night! Thanks Paul (UGQ) and Randy (DreamHammock)

Certainly should work with Dutch Hooks sewn onto your hammock body, don't see why it wouldn't as long as they are located correctly. As for Hennessy tie outs our quilts have a series of tri-rings along both sides, with a short piece of shock cord you can attach to guy out point. WBBBs are a little tougher due to guy points being located outward and upward on insect netting.

Re: Dream Hammock Pack Hook Mod Video

I'm looking at the thunderbird hammock but not too sure about what materials to choose (this is pretty much the last thing I need to figure out before hitting the order button) Im wanting a double layer if it doesn't make it too much bigger packed up (anyone got pics of them packed?) I want the outside to be black for sure, but debating between black or orange on the inside. What is the difference in the material itself? Noob/future hanger here... Thanks for the help and hope I posted this in the right place
