    Semi bridge? Does the job!

Hi all. I guess this won't be a new idea but I haven't seen it anywhere. I was getting annoyed by the squeeze I get from the underquilt suspension around my shoulders/head. I kept wanting to push the sides away a bit to make more room and allow me to lie on an angle better.

So I came up with this simple tool.

I only have it at my head end, just above where my head lays. It eliminates that squeeze and gives me a bit more shoulder room, and makes my hang just that bit more comfortable. Also it keeps the mozzie net away a bit more too. It's just a 2ft length of pvc tube with notches at each end cut into it.

I have seen it on the forums before, so yes, not original. However I am glad to see you're working out your hang comfort. I just lay halfway on my side most nights and get no squeeze at all.

I like it but I would protect the hammock where it lays against the fabric.
    YMMV

Thanks nothermark, but I don't think it will need much more than just rounding off the edges with a file.

    Hmmm yeah

I believe SloHike was an early adopter of this style. I am surprised that it has taken until now to hear of somebody else trying it.

I'm sure that there are hundreds of little mods people are using that they have adopted because it suits them, not knowing or caring that they aren't the only ones doing it. It's what makes hammocking so interesting.

    Hey there GA.

Ghillieshot here. I haven seen your set up for a few months now, but that looks pretty good. It'll be nice with the TW UQ. We'll have to catch up sometime soon and share ideas. Nice work.

Definitely Ghillie. The new quilt should finish off my setup nicely.

I'm thinking of a few days in a couple of weeks on the Murray would be nice. I'll be in touch. :-)
