I've had that rigging slip through the lark's head at the whoopie sling, resulting in one longer side and one shorter. And I can tell you that after it tightens up, that lark's head is a Devil to undo. I'm switching over to a pair of dog-bones. Grams be damned.

I attach a SMC descender ring at the apex of my suspension triangle with a larkshead. I then larkshead my whoopie sling to the same ring. No slipping that I've been able to tell.

My point for the comment was since Hiking Dad was using a piece of hardware at the Apex of his suspension triangle and attaching each leg of the suspension triangle to it, then there was no reason that a single piece of amsteel couldn't be used in the same manner.

    Cheers

+1 on this. Could you also post a supply list? That would be super helpful. Thanks again for being awesome.

    Video: Easy DIY Bridge Hammock

Hiking dad???? Why did you see the tube webbing then see on loops at the end instead of just leaving a extra 4-5 inchs and double it back on itself? I liked how you did the end caps great job.

I wondered the same thing as I do exactly what you suggest and just fold it back on itself and stitch to form the end loops.

I didn't use tube webbing, just regular 1/2" webbing. And now to answer your question. I didn't leave some extra because doing the end caps this way and cutting everything from one piece of fabric means that the end cap will fold over where the webbing would stick out. Does that make sense?

Ahhh. I see. I like your end caps so ifs it's one way or the other I would pick your way. I'm just about to see on my end caps and am not looking forward to it.

Very nice job. I really suck at sewing rip-stop but every once in a while I get inspired to give it another try. I'll be keeping my eye out on Dutch's site for "Titanium Bridge Builders" so I can order a set. Actually, if someone were to put together a whole suspension package, I'd bet it would be popular (just sayin)

I finally got a chance to watch both video's.

Wow, that looks very easy. The best designs seem to have the K.I.S.S. method and you nailed it. Great job on the video and the design.

This project may be just what the DIY'er in me needs to make the wife a bridge hammock. Thanks a bunch.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
