The fantastic sights and the fecund smells of Linville Gorge combined with your fertile imagination - a fine start to an epic journey, Shug. Looking forward to Pinchin tomorrow , but I'll bet you two take it in stride, and then peaceful repose on the fern-covered slopes of Laurel Knob. (Say Hi to the bear, Hickery.) You did finish the other end of the trail, didn't you? You did find Laurel Knob from that direction, didn't you? I guess I need to wait for the next chapter to find out.

Life long friends are the ones ya can't BS because they really know you almost better than ya know yourself..Chances are they've seen us not at our best and were there for those times as well as the good ones..Great to see a couple of buds walking the woods and adding to the memories..Thanks for taking us along..

I started watching this on my phone last night as I crawled into bed, and of course my wife complained, "Why are those two guys singing?!?" So I had to wait till I got to my desk this morning to enjoy it.

"Spam-licker!" haha, good stuff. Thanks, waiting on #2......

Thanks for the upload Shug. I'm all caught up on all your vids. Excellent work! I have a slight twitch now but the Doc said it should go away.

Yessir…..would have liked to meet you too. The Grand Loop dictated our time so we missed a few folks.

Sure enjoyed that time with you Ken. Finally got to eyeball the carving/diorama you did of the Hickery's. He has it on his mantle.

Looks like the foliage was in full change while you were there. Beautiful area...

Is the river normally that low this time of year? I know it can get to be raging when the rains are right. And I'm not surprised that some folks tried to homestead there; the river would've brought perfect soil on down into that floodplain.

Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to parts to come!
Fall is low time for the river I reckon. The foliage was in full Glory)))))

Those fecund smells are what I love down there. Life and Death combined. We did not go up Pinchin….though we talked about it. I missed the rock Jock. Love that trail.
Had an easy walk to Laurel Knob.
We spoke of you. Did you feel us?

So true. Hickery is one feller I am comfortable just being quiet around….for short spells of course.

I always cut a lot of singing out of the videos…….we sing a lot. And badly.
