There are just way too many awesome hammock vendors out there!!!
I recently found myself at the all too common newbie crossroads, upgrading from my first hammock (mine is a ENO DN). So I hit the forums looking for info on what to buy next. I've read a gazillion threads comparing features, prices, comfort, personal experiences etc etc etc.
What have I learned?
- There are a lot of really great hammocks being produced by amazing cottage vendors and you can't really go wrong with any of them.
- What is comfy for one "man" may not be for the next, even if they are the same height and weight.
- Your first hammock is a gateway into total addiction.
My husband is also upgrading from an ENO DN. After all I have learned reading the forums, I decided to just jump in feet first and pick up some barely used hammocks from the sale forums. Seemed like as good of a place to start as any.
First I scored a WBBB 1.1 DL, thinking it would be perfect to surpise the hubby with, but secretly perhaps hoping it becomes mine. Next I picked up a Clark TX-250 with the weathershield. At this point, I have no idea which one I will ultimately end up with and which one will become the hubby's, but I figure either way, we've got two nice hammocks to start experimenting with. They both should arrive sometime early next week and I can't wait!!!!!
Thanks to everyone for making this forum so wonderful and full of such amazing information!
