I think the The Foyle is the best option for what I want to do. Thanks to all that helped. I will leave this thread up and let others in my situation see these great ideas!!

Good luck with the project! Maybe after it's done, you can update this thread with a short account of your experience, and a picture or two.

Thanks. I have a few of these laying around.

Actually I have not used any pads to supplement my UQs in the past few winters. Even mores since I started using the pod system.

Can someone point me to threads on "the pod system" or give a brief explanation to a noobie? Forum won't let me search on that word because it is too short.

I just cut up an old sleeping bag, sewed loops along the edge, and hooked it up. It certainly doesn't pack like a down UQ, but it really does keep me nice a toast.

lol I've seen virtually every one of Shugs videos since I started hangen, I was just looken to purchase one on the cheap, but... Since I don't have cash quite yet for the HG Foyle I picked up some ripstop from walmart, a full body puffer jacket from goodwill (oldschool one with 100% goose down) and a couple of other down jackets and I am currently working on my supplemental UQ till I can get what I need. This is actually turning out pretty cool considering I've found a way to this without have to worry about this fabric being down proof. I am making a new video that will be up on my youtube channel in the next day or two of the whole project. I'll also post pics here

Btw, the Foyle is not from HG but from UQ, as in underquilts.com.
