    topquilt hoods

I am not sure if anyone has done this and looking for feedback. has a cottage vendor or a DIY-er tried to have an attached hood on their top quilt? I have only used sleeping bags, but figured a hood can be used in TQ as well. most people seem to just layer up belaclavas, down hats and other assorted head gear.
my idea, permanently sow(or Velcro, button) on, one half of the hood to the TQ, and then button or velcro to attach the other side. it wold keep the neck warmer, head warmer and shoulders because it would hold together the ends of the quilt.
keep in mind I have never seen a TQ before other than pictures on here(first one is in the mail from WL).
if anyone has seen these can you add the link. lots of info in the search engines...

yes, quite a few cottage vendors make them. JRB's comes with omni tape to attach it to any vest/quilt.

I converted an old down bag to a TQ, and of course the hood was off to the side, so I cut it off and reattached it in the center, just by two points. Also I put it on backwards from the way it was before, so I could pull the quilt up to my chin and put my head through the hole between the quilt and the hood. It worked great. Later I detached it and added snaps to fasten it so I could wash the hood separately.

I really like this idea. I have a White Lion down sleeping bag with a detachable hood, and it has snaps. I may have to convert this bag to a TQ.
