    Full-Time DL Hammock.

I have been tasked by my girlfriend to make a hammock for full-time use, and she gave me one rule: she wants the inside to be satin so there is a nice skin-feel. So far, I think I have found the materials, and making it shoud be no problem. Just going to use a 90x156 crinkle taffeta tablecloth for the outside, and the same size satin tablecloth for the inside.

However, I also want to put in at least some thin insulation between the layers, permanently. Still going over in my head the best think to use, and how to make sure it stays in place between the layers. I have a while to figure it out, but I am pretty excited about this project.
I may be dumb, but at least I'm ugly!

I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn.

If you want something in the layers permanently, and weight isnt an issue, I'd suggest a thin layer of either flannel or fleece.

I used a flannel sheet and a layer of 1.9 for the hammock in our spare bedroom.

How do you keep the flannel from bunching up? Just a couple tacks at the corners?

Velcro sewn into the side hem? Maybe tarp pull outs? http://dutchwaregear.com/clip-on-tarp-pull-outs.html

I thought about velcro, but then I thought if I was going to be sewing anyways I might as well just put one little tack at the corners.

Three layer hammock with the flannel in the middle, but any insulation will be compressed and not do much.

If you make the 2nd layer slightly longer than the 1st layer, you will leave a gap. But that means the 1st layer needs to be strong enough to support you. Not sure how much stretch the top layer will have, so no idea how much differential you need.

One idea is to pin up one side. Get in then have someone hold up the bottom layer so it has 1/2" gap or so. Mark length of 2nd layer. Would also be good for mosquitoes.

Mosquitoes shouldn't be an issue for the indoor hammock

Weight won't be an issue, or packability. I'd get a wool blanket, cut to size and just sew it between the layers. Wool does not lose much heat retention due to being compressed, or, not that it matters here, when wet.
