    Too many attachments?

When posting a thread yesterday I was only able to attach 5 photos where in the past I could post up to 10. So I clicked on 'Attachments' today and found that I had over 400. Could this be the problem? If so how do I go about deleteing some of the older attachments. Only the last 5 have a select box in the right hand column to click and delete. I would like to be able to delete only some of the older attachments.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

If these attachments were used in posts and are deleted, they will be deleted from the posts as well.

In my opinion, this would take away from HF being an archive of info.

I have changed the maximum number of attachments to (5) because people are trying to attach files that are too large and it is giving them errors. This is a temporary "fix" for now, as we will be doing a software upgrade in the future that will eliminate these issues.

You can also put them in the gallery without restriction... Just another option for ya.

I think the gallery has restrictions on number of files.

I don't think so. I see xTrekker has over 100 in there.
    AngrySparrow used to recommend:
If they are hammock related, upload them to the image gallery (link at top left of the forum) and paste the BB Code from each image's gallery page into the thread.

If it's not hammock related, just 'attach' it to your post.

For anybody not sure how to do this:

Yeah, tried deleting one and it was removed from the post. Ended up putting it back.

Some good info here TallPaul but I don't use photobucket or flickr and I'm not very computer literate. Have never used the gallery either. Maybe you can answer a question. Is a URL assigned to photos in My Pictures on the computer or only on photos placed on PB or Flickr or the gallery?
