HOLY BATMAN Jared. Order my new hammock on Friday LATE morning, almost lunch time on friday after talking with Jared during the week. Ordered the new hanger package with the Trail Lair and all the extra's. In the HyperD XL hunter green. Got email with shipping info on Saturday afternoon. It should arrive on the 15th and so should my order from Dutch.
AND i took Michigan Dave's advice.....i'm off on Friday.....if it is not 100+ degrees this weekend, going to head out friday night for a quick over nighter.....now i just need to find a place to hang close by. I'm not to far from the AT trail. hmmmm

That's how Jared rolls. FAST! Enjoy your new gear and give us a report on how you like it. Laying in my Trail Lair hexon 1.0 right now enjoying a lake view on a quick overnight.
Sure enough, my new hammock is here. And my order from Dutch as well. Now the sad part of waiting till Friday to string it up...........

Jared modified his Trail Bird backpacking tarp into a a nice hammock summer tarp. Lengthen the foot and head for added coverage but enough to look out the sides as all have said quick shipping and excellent work.

Nice mod on the 'bird. What's the ridgeline length and width at each end? Jared does great work and hopefully he'll have his own vendor forum someday.
Simply light Solo trail bird backpacking tarp: 8oz
Catenary Curves applied to ridgeline, sides & head end
Tapers from Head End to Foot End
Standard Length is 9'
Width - 6' Head End, 3' Foot End
Side tie outs 3
Upgrade:
Standard Length is 10'
Width - 7' Head End, 4' Foot End
Jared has options seam seal, 11' ridge line, line locs and pick your color.

Has been discussed to have his own nice to be under the radar for those as repeat customers. Add to the forum he might
get overwhelmed as he is a one person cottage vendor.

I too have a night wing tarp. Not a great tarp for storms, but now that I have a Dutch sock I'll use it more as a hybrid system.
In Texas with mild winters the minimalist tarp actually makes a good winter tarp option. Just enough coverage not to soak the sock.
It is also much better behaving in wind than the normal full hex. And it fits into a smaller area with the tie outs.
Anyway waiting for op's report
