yes, you run the shock cord through the poles, then tie it off to the hole in the pic. Then jam it in the pole, that's what hold it all together...

Great mod! Do you think the ridgeline could benefit from some type of padding where the poles come in to contact with it or is that of little concern?

When I say padding I mean on the pole, not the ridgeline.

I recently moved to using whoopie slings and soft shackles on my tarp. Similar to my hammock, but using Lash-it instead of the Amsteel Blue on the hammock.

No more continuous ridge. This method makes for a lighter quicker setup and tear down than a prusik or metal clips on a CRL.

I had considered using Amsteel Blue for the soft shackles only. I thought they might be easier at tear down time, but the Lash-it shackles unhook quite easily when you use the quick release thread method.
A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt, but not too sure it's needed. It's putting downward pressure onit, and the poles are smooth, I think it should be fine without it, but I've only had this a couple months so only time will tell.

Thanks for the reply. My friend and I have ordered the stuff to do this mod and we can't wait to see it in action!

You'll need some shock/bungee cord to hold it all together.
    She'll be right mate
