If this was a warm up for FHT in SC next month, I'll be lucky to make it halfway through that trail. Duffy, PM me if your coming. Good Luck up there FLRider!!!
Thanks for coming on out, O-Boy! Take it easy on the FHT; parts of that are a bit more...strenuous...than the FT through Ocala. It's worth it, though; that section of SC is absolutely gorgeous. Best of luck!

Good trip reports by all, thank you.
We'd've loved to have had you. But family is more important, for sure.

There were a couple of mosquitoes, but they weren't terrible with Permethrin on everything and a spot of Picaridin when one would buzz me. I had three or four of 'em that came on by during the evenings when I was in the hammock; it was good for my peace of mind to hear 'em drop from the Permethrin on the fabric.

Hope to see you some time soon!

I think Florida is our Outback.

Heh. Not everything wants you to die, here, though.

Never thought of it that way, though; a pretty fair description compared to the remainder of the eastern US.

But, we're just getting into our fair weather season (hence the hang's name). For the next five months or so, temperatures should be below 90* during the day and 70* at night; wait a month to a month and an half and that'll drop to below 80* during the day and 60* at night. Gorgeous hiking weather. Great for big-mile days, given the minimal insulation one needs to bring and the flat(ish) nature of the trails down here.

Come on out to the 4th Annual Hang, and we'll show you the back country part of the great state of FL. Also, you'll leave a couple pounds heavier from the food--another good reason to hike!
