    Got my tarp!

My deluxe (in elegant black) arrived the other day.
I pulled it out of the bag and admired the beautiful workmanship, dug out my old home made tarp (laughed hysterically at the old tarp - uuuuuuuuuuuuugly), transferred the guy lines, stretched out the 'cat and slid it into my bugnet reptile skins, now I have to wait a few more days until I can get out and hang!

I just got mine last week. It is also a black deluxe. I set up the night before in the backyard with wind and rain blowing at 30 to 40 mph. I stayed dry as could be. Thanks Brian for a quality product.

Now that's one sweeeet looking tarp. I have the same model in gray, and I'm still impressed every time I set it up on how easy it is to get a nice taut pitch. Sometimes I tighten that ridgeline down really tight, but I have not seen a single thread pop loose. I've probably had that tarp out for 30-40 nights now in all kinds of weather and it's still like new.

Unfortunately I can't say the same about my JRB 10x11. After my first trip out last month I noticed some failure and it looks like I'm going to have to do some reinforcing around the tieouts.

Very nice, I would guess black shouldn’t be a problem with absorbing heat if you’re mainly using it during the evening and night…

I figure, if it is hot enough for me to worry about a black tarp, I'll have the darn thing pitched high enough that there will be plenty of space for breezes. On this week's micro-excursion, the warmth under the tarp was kind of nice in the very late afternoon.
