    Bug net Materal/problems?

    Hey guys viper here!
Light well my first bug net I used that tuule netting from Walmart I liked how lite it is and how breathable it is but I ended up thing it because seems like every time I used it i ripped it more. So the last two bug nets I have made are made from this like curtain scarf stuff for windows it's really strong but is rather heavy(idk oz/yard) but its so hot adds probably like 5 deg or so when in the hammock. Which I don't like I sleep hot anyways.
So basically I need something strong and breathable main things, light weight would be nice but not needed. But obviously needs to keep bugs out lol so anyone any advise? Thanks guys

    Nanoseeum mesh?
I may be dumb, but at least I'm ugly!

I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn.

Nanoseeum mesh for $7.95/yrd at 0.7oz/sqyrd at thru-hiker.net

Noseeum mesh for $3.25/yrd at 0.9oz/sqyrd at DIY Gear Supply

Tulle is about 0.3 oz/sqyrd for reference. But like you found: it's very delicate. I've accidentally ripped it open too many times for me to risk it. Noseeum it is for me. The 0.2oz savings with Nanoseeum isn't worth twice the cost for me.

That .9 oz/yd noseaum netting how durable is it? If you can find a way to explain or compare it to something I listed above?

I recently bought some noseeum from Skeeta... good price. 10yrds for around $30. fast shipping, nice folks to deal with, and the product is of good quality.

Good find - thanks for posting it.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

fyi...when i ordered there was some issues with the shipping part of their website during checkout. I called them and they were aware and are working on it so you may have to give them a call and have a bill sent through paypal or something (thats what i did). Enjoy!!

That's Outdoor Wilderness Fabrics. Good to know! Looks like he sells a few different "noseeum" meshes. The polyester ones are listed as 1oz/sqyrd. The nylon one is listed at 0.7oz/sqyrd in the description, but the size says "53-54" 1 oz". Not sure what that means. Are you buying the nylon mesh? Have you confirmed the weight?

It's pretty durable stuff. I'll actually lean back against in when lounging, and have no concerns about ripping it. Much more durable than tulle. Not sure about the curtains.
