Aww Pudden, you know we love ya....
"No whining in the woods"
It was a great Fall Sprawl! Thanks to Rev for spearheading it, to everyone there for making it so much fun and to everyone who supported it. I'm glad to have seen some old friends and to have made some new ones.
Until next time,
Chris
Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you too...Rev, Dawn and Gresh for putting this event together. You guys did an amazing job, and i'm so happy we were able to be a part of it
You southerners sure do know how to make us Yankees feel welcomed..we had a BLAST!! I really look forward to the next hang with all of you.
I'm hoping some of you will be able to make it to the Florida Hang in January..it would be great to see you again, sooner rather than later
Thanks again for letting us come and be a part and for all the work everyone put into it...miss everyone already
Chris, we enjoyed meeting you and hearing about your adventures! Hope to see you at the next one.
The Fall Sprawl was our first group hang. Rev was a gracious host. He had a gleaming castle of Imusa pots for everyone as gifts. Upon arrival to the fire ring we were welcomed with big hugs from Captain Smiley. We enjoyed meeting new friends and learning about the different hammocks and suspensions (thanks mbcruzin!) and the bonfire/park donation was an epic moment like no other.
I was unprepared for how exciting the raffle would be. We never, ever win anything but won 3 times! Thanks to the generous donations of Mr/Mrs Tato, The Bloomer's, and Stu of whoopieslings.com we won some very cool things! Just having a ticket in the pot for a chance to win Paul and Missy's (of Underground Quilts) under quilt was very, very, thrilling for everyone with a chance. My son was so impressed with everyone and everything he asked me to teach him about stove making and if we could get a sewing machine to make gear. He thought that being a cottage vendor would be a cool job to have in the future.
Thanks for the great time and we look forward to the next time!
Great time had by all. Rev was not the only one to land on the dirt as my strap slipped out of my Dutch Clip Friday night and I became one with the ground. Nothing hurt. Thanks to Gresh and the others who came to make sure I was ok
Did not set up a tarp Friday night so I could enjoy the sky but the clouds hid most of the stars. Set up a tarp for Sat night and it did come in handy with the rain we had.
Had fun showing off some hammock setups Sat to some newcomers and had a long talk with Paul from UGQs ( maybe I will win the UQ next time )
I am surprised we did not have any cases of spontaneous human combustion from the heat of the fire Sat.
Big thanks to Tacoma and his wife for the ice cream. First hang I have been to when we had ice cream.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Had a great time...don't know if I can go another year without seeing you guys
The more hangs you go to the better and better they get.
Speaking from experience now.
Straight out of Clayton.
Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.
I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
