    SLD Streamliner?

Does anyone have any experience with the Streamliner from SImply Light Designs? It's piqued my interest and I have a friend in the market for a hammock. I'm wondering if I should recommend it or not. Admittedly (and I admitted it to her) part of the reason I wanna recommend it is so I can check it out for myself and see if I want one. If it does what they say it does then it'd be a great addition to my arsenal.

I've got DL Streamliner Camo. Great hammock. I'm 6'5" 245. He has new fabric that you can get one a little wider. Great to do business with and fast shipping. Will be using on up coming 4 day kayak trip on Fontana Lake. BigRed77

So does it really reduce calf ridge? Just how taut are the sides when you're getting in and out, do they feel over stressed? Does it still feel wide enough or do you feel like you're in a tiny hammock you're gonna fall out of if you move?

I've got 11' hammock. It is not as loose as my WBBB XLC. No problem getting out. He is making one with 70" fabric now. I may get one of those later. I sold my XLC. A lot of fiddle factor to set up but was a good hammock.

    Calf ridge? Not a Problem

How taut are the sides getting in & out? On my grosgrain edged version very taut. I don't think Jared makes them edged anymore as standard.

Does it feel wide enough? The head & foot ends are the same width as a typical gathered end, so there's plenty of room where you need it and nothing extra where you don't.

As far as moving around, I sleep on my back and roll onto both sides in mine without feeling like I might fall out. There just isn't extra material enclosing you like we're used to with a non cat cut hammock.

For the price he's asking, I would order one for yourself. If you don't like it, it makes for one of the cheaper "loaner" hammock options............but I doubt you won't like it

Thanks for all the info. Sounds like the hammock does live up to the hype. Someone was kind enough to offer to send me one to try with the option to buy, so I'll be finding out for myself soon. I have a feeling that if my friend doesn't buy it I will be and if she does buy it then Jared will be getting another order in the near future.

Thought you might get some sort of offer on one. My 11' could be made available, as a loaner, if need be.

Just got mine in over the weekend. 10 foot in 1.9 coyote brown and the double ended stuff sack. Super comfy with during my abbreviated backyard test hang. Looking forward to getting it out on it's first trip!

During my emails with Jared from SLD, he mentioned that he sent one to Derek Hansen review. Here it is:

I love my 1.1, 9ft Streamliner! I'm 165lb. So, there's some stretch. But, with a ridgeline slightly less than 90", I can get a really nice lay. It's right at 6.25 oz, as advertised. I'm not a dedicated hanger (don't shoot me, I just don't wanna carry the extra insulation required). So, it's light weight and tiny packed size are perfect when conditions permit. With straps, D-rings and straps (which all fit in the included double end stuff sack), I'm at 14 oz. Great hammock and the service could not have been better (or faster, for that matter). Two big thumbs up for Jared!
