it didn't rain at the weekend, I hoped it would so I could figure out all my leaks. I was thinking I could probably just have something hang from the rings the hammock attaches to if needed. I took plenty of extra to rig something if needed, we also had a spare larger tarp and plenty of room in tents so even if the worst had come I would be ok.

I am very interested to see what happens in the rain, i'll either have to find someone with a couple of trees and a hose, or run somewhere with hanging spots next time it rains here.

I like the setup but am concerned about the webbing on the trees. 3/4 is pushing the tree hugger size when one considers that some parks are requiring 1-1/2 inches. At least it beats 7/64... ;-)

well if I run into an issue i'll either do multiple wraps or change the outer pieces to a larger width. and you never know I might be full of **** and its 1 inch to be honest I cant remember. I'll go find my strap works order and edit it if its is indeed 1 inch.

yeah.. my bad its 1 inch webbing "PEWSC1 Polyester Webbing 1 [Polyester Color:Charcoal]" from strapworks.com great company to order from they actually sent me more than I ordered some how, I have 5 feet extra that I have to find a use for now.

I REALLY REALLY like your set up.
good one on the Ti rings as well.

If you find you need some drip rings, someone gave some to me on the trail.
I'd be happy to send 'em to you.

The Ti rings are cool, but too heavy for most of you. If you were to copy you could probably get away with just using the smc rap ring things that weigh nothing.

The Ti rings are solid and wont ever ever break on me... but consequently they aren't as light. If I remember i'll throw one of my other ones on the kitchen scales and give you an Idea.

I think when I have made the skins etc I'll have to make a video of the setup process.

I'm not sure how it would do in the rain, but that's my only complaint. I love this Idea! I swapped my caribiners on my DN for the WB Adjustable webbing buckles. I do like the way I can perfectly adjust it, however. when rain comes, and I'm just relaxing in it on my front porch, I have to pull the straps all the way out, and then pack it all into a bag. With these though, I could just take it on and off with ease! Would you be willing to make me a pair?

    Ti rap ring.

the strap leaving the top of the picture is the part that goes around the tree, the strap leaving the bottom is the ridge line. Its the same at both ends, but the tree strap is sewn to opposite sides, so I always loop both sides the same direction around the tree. I did this to help make sure I dont twist it while setting up.

One option would be to switch out the Ti rings with SMC aluminum rings. Only 11g each and rated to over 3,000#.
