Fronkey bug net width vs hammock length ??

I currently have a 5x12 1.1oz hammock I like a lot that weighs 16 oz for just the hammock and had intended to build a double layer M50 hammock to save 6 oz, but then the tarp is longer heavier bug net bigger heavier etc.

Just bought a Grand Trunk UL camo hammock and with my suspension I find it pretty darn comfortable and it weighs 8.5 oz. I had one before and did not care for it so not sure what happened.

    Now the Fronkey bugnet question.

Best I can figure a single width of 60" netting will be wide enough for the 9.5' long ultralight, but if I stay with the 12' length hammock will I need a double fronkey ??

IE with a seam down the center to make it wider like 6' - 7' wide or so.
I think I will due to more drop but thought I would ask those with more experience with fronkey bug nets.

I am not following. I have made several fronkey style bugnets and I have made them to spec. I have never needed it to be wider. Really the only thing to change is the length. That is determined by your hammock. My hammock is 11' with a 83% SRL coming in at 113". So I make my bug net about about 118" long. it fits the width just fine. Hope that helps. If not I am sure someone can explain it better than I.

If your hammock has a ridgeline, bring out a piece of string or rope. Pass the string under your hammock, hop in, and run the string over the ridgeline to get an idea of the "circumference" that you'll need. You probably don't want the bugnet to be too tight so make sure the string is a little slack when you measure. The use that measurement as the width for your bugnet fabric and adjust the length according to your hammock's length.

+1 on this. Remember to make it large enough not to crush your UQ.
