    Doubling 2x20º Quilts VS 0º

    I currently have a 20º phoenix and a 20º Phincubator ( about 10" Longer than a phoenix)
I doubled up this combination and was out to -27ºc ( not sure what that converts to ºf)

anyways on that trip my son borrowed a 0º and it worked well for him

    Now my question

I want to get an incubator (0º) that has a similar loft/temp rating that doubling up my 2x20º has
    - would a stock incubator give the same (or more)?
    - should I add overstuff to compensate?

I want to get this for my son - but I want his UQ to be the same or warmer than mine.

-27c is about -16.5F. Boy, that is cold!

Dream Hammock has a Down Loft Calculator that says you need almost 3.8 inches of loft for about -17F.

You can see the chart at:

Hey Lofty. The quilt your son used took me to -33c the night after you left. Two layers of fleece, zipped inside my sleeping bag. Had a vapour barrier suit on but feel sure I would have been ok without it.

Hammock gear Pheonix 0° no overstuff.

Thanks Jayson - I want to order him a 0º incubator - wasn't sure if I wanted a little overfill or not - My setup ( a pheonix and a phincubator ) seemed to work well at that hang. I just want his UQ to be warmer than me - so if I'm OK at those temps I know he is.

just gearing up for his fall and possible winter scout camps ( he has one in 2 weeks ) - and we are just beginning planning a winter 2 night over the Christmas break
