    snake skins with ridge line

So as I am still trying to figure if I want a CRL or 2 separate lines on either end, I got stumped on if I am supposed to take the ridgelines off when using snakeskin. Do I disconnect one side to " unwrap" the tree and then stuff it into snakeskin? It doesn't have a pocket for cord(zing it). if there is a video or pics of it a would appreciate the link. steep learning curve after about a month of hanging and collecting needed gear
    Thanks

normally you would separate CRL from tarp when you are tearing down, but i think people that use snakeskins keep it all together, inside the skin. at least that is how i am doing it now.

I started with a CRL and snakeskins, I have always used the snakeskins from the very beginning and I cannot imagine doing it any other way. I kept the CRL on all the time, no issues that I knew of or ever noticed.
With that said I have now gotten rid of the CRL and went to two separate lines, for me this is a much better option. I am still using the same snakeskins that stay on all the time. I hope this helps.

You can leave the ridge line(s) with the tarp all the time. Either grab a handful of snakeskin/tarp at the end and wrap the line around it or make a hank of line around your thumb and pinky finger and tie it off right at the end of the snakeskin. Some folks make little plastic line holders with notches to wrap their lines around. I think all methods work whether you use a continuous ridge line or two separate lines.

There's no wrong or right way, whatever works for you!

I used to use an above the tarp ridgeline but eventually went to two separate lines. As mentioned already just keep all your lines attached and put the snakeskins on.

I use crl and snakeskins, I just keep the ridgeline on w/ the tarp at all times, no need to break it down or separate it. It makes for a super fast set up =)

i got Mountain Goat sleeves, and there are pockets on the sleeves for stuffing the ridgeline and other guy lines, etc into. Pretty nifty, as everything you need is right there. I don't think there is a reason to remove the RL from your tarp as you store it.
