Searched and was surprised that this didn't come up. Perhaps different wording? I know we've seen similar, but anyway.....

“Stories set in the Culture in which Things Went Wrong tended to start with humans losing or forgetting or deliberately leaving behind their terminal. It was a conventional opening, the equivalent of straying off the path in the wild woods in one age, or a car breaking down at night on a lonely road in another.”
― Iain M. Banks, The Player of Games
I don't get it either, $969 and you are putting a tent in a hammock that needs 3+ trees. A regular hammock seems so much simpler. I don't see the benefit of this rig. There has to be some damage to trees with all the weight?
From a breif look they are remarkably similar to the Tentsile.
Scatch that the tentsile looks better imho, not that I need or even want a tree tent.
No matter how hard someone tries breeding tents with hammocks is not possible in a practical sense. This would be fun in the backyard but so would a whole bunch of hammocks for that price.

Sandy, Andy had a prototype he was testing for them at FH3. Sorry you missed it, but can't wait to see you and the pups at FH4.
The hanging tent is a little heavy and has some serious tackle in the suspension, but Andy said probably good for car camping or kayak trips. It was something we discussed for quite a while as we gave our opinions on it to "help" with the testing.
My opinion was not as good as a hammock but better than a cot. Anything above the ground is always a step up.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
My kids would love that set up. They could make me hump everything instead of lugging their own hammock and tarps. The concept is cool, but I am not thinking it very practical unless you are doing an extended stay base camp type set up. One of the great features of hammock camping aside from the comfort is the easy set up and take down that i am guessing a tree tent lacks.
